چکیده

This study was evaluated the effects of different carbohydrate sources on fermentation profiles, chemical compositions, and correlation profiles compositions with water-soluble (WSC) alfalfa (Medicago sativa) silage. Alfalfa harvested at early flowering stage from third cutting in September 2018, wilted to 32% dry matter (DM) chopped into 1–2 cm pieces. Treatments included addition pectin (PEC), starch (STA; powdered corn), molasses (MOL), fructose (FRU), as well distilled water a control (CON). Afterward, 300 g prepared packed polyethylene bags, vacuumed, sealed, after which they were stored room temperature for 1, 3, 7, 15, 30 d. FRU PEC additions resulted desirable throughout ensiling period. rapidly decreased pH increased Fleig’s point, exhibiting lower higher point 3 d end ensiling. Acetic acid (AA), propionic (PA) ammonia nitrogen (AN) contents Higher lactic (LA) found 7 LA:AA ratios 15 Butyric (BA) not detected any during Additives exhibited DM content The WSC number days stable PEC, STA, than CON. improved quality Thus, or related agricultural byproducts may offer alternative additives improving silage profile.

Different aspects of Lactobacillus inoculants on the improvement of quality and safety of alfalfa silage

There is a significant range of bacterial inoculants for forage ensiling, but there is still a need for formulations to improve the safety of feed. The objective of the study was to evaluate the usefulness of three lactobacilli strains in alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) The following bacterial inoculants were used: Lactocacillus plantarum K KKP 593p (LPK), L. plantarum C KKP 788p (LPC), L. buchner...

Efficacy of carbohydrate sources for milk production by cows fed diets based on alfalfa silage.

The effectiveness of three carbohydrate sources, high-moisture ear corn (HMEC), cracked shelled corn (CSC), and a 50:50 mixture of HMEC plus dried citrus pulp (DCP), fed with or without supplemental rumen-undegraded protein as expeller soybean meal (ESBM), was assessed in 48 multiparous dairy cows. All diets contained (dry mater [DM] basis) 50% alfalfa silage, 10% ryegrass silage, 28% NDF, and ...

Effects of inoculation of high dry matter alfalfa silage on ensiling characteristics, ruminal nutrient degradability and dairy cow performance

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of a homolactic acid inoculant on ensiling characteristics and nutritive value of high dry matter (DM) alfalfa. The ensiling characteristics were determined by ensiling inoculated and untreated alfalfa haylage in mini-silos for 0, 2, 4, 8, 16 and 45 days. Two lactating cows fitted with ruminal fistulas were used to determine ruminal degra...

effects of cutting time, ensiling duration and microbial additives on chemical composition of alfalfa silage

this experiment was conducted to assess the effects of daytime cutting management (p.m. vs. a.m. cut), ensiling duration and adding microbial inoculants on chemical composition of alfalfa silage. for this, second growth alfalfa harvested at the early bud stage of development after a sunny day at sundown (about 1900 h; pm alfalfa), whereas the second half was cut next day at sunup (about 0800 h;...
